Представьте, что вы хотите купить абонемент в неплохой спортзал: там толковые тренеры, оборудование, вид из окон хороший, олимпийский бассейн, и вообще быть там — престижно.
Но проблема в том, что все абонементы давно раскуплены, а количество мест в зале ограничено. Да и у вас, честно говоря, проблема с экстерьером (о нарушенном вашем внутреннем мире там тоже знают). Поэтому вам отказывают из месяца в месяц, из года в год.
Что вы только не делаете: и угрожаете, что разобьете окна, и предлагаете взятки на рецепции, и кричите, что пойдете в другой спортзал, и что от горя и тоски умрете, и шумите, что это, мол, нечестно, не по-европейски, дискриминационно. И пытаетесь привести, как можете, в соответствии залу свою внешность, и даже внутренность, и поссорились и деретесь с соседями (из окон зала на это смотрят благосклонно и даже машут иногда ручками).
Но абонент не продают. И не продадут. Ну не вышли вы рылом для этого места. Но чтоб у вас было какое-то объяснение перед своей семьей, которая уже смертельно утомилась и обескровлена и финансово, и физически от вашей идеи фикс, рецепция заключает с вами — ‼- договор о начале переговоров о возможности покупки абонемента в спортзал. Вуаля!
Вы, пряча глаза, понимая, что и в семье все и всё понимают, всё-таки машете перед своими этой бумажкой и заявляете, что это «историческое событие», которое стоило всех тех бед, навалившихся на ваш дом.
Вот и с этим договором о начале переговоров о возможности вступления Украины в ЕС все точно так. Только грустней и больнее.
Imagine that you want to buy a season ticket to a good gym: it has good trainers, equipment, a good view from the windows, an Olympic swimming pool, and in general it is prestigious to be there.
But the problem is that all the season tickets have long been sold out, and the number of places in the gym is limited. And, frankly speaking, you have a problem with your exterior (they know about your disturbed inner world there too). That’s why you are rejected month after month, year after year.
What you do: you threaten to break windows, you offer bribes at the reception, you shout that you will go to another gym, and that you will die of grief and longing, and you make noise that it is not fair, not European, discriminatory. And you try to bring, as you can, in accordance with the gym your appearance, and even the inside, and quarrel and fight with your neighbors (from the windows of the gym they look at it favorably and even wave sometimes).
But they don’t sell the subscriber. And will not sell. Well, you’re not the right person for this place. But in order for you to have some explanation in front of your family, which is already fatigued and exsanguinated both financially and physically from your fix idea, the reception concludes with you — ‼- an agreement to start negotiations on the possibility of buying a gym membership. Voila!
You, hiding your eyes, realizing that everyone in your family understands everything, still wave this piece of paper in front of your family and declare that this is a «historic event» that was worth all the troubles that have come upon your home.
It is exactly the same with this agreement on the beginning of negotiations on the possibility of Ukraine’s accession to the EU. Only sadder and more painful.
