Уверен, что прекрасно понимал. Он знал, что мстительный и обидчивый президент обязательно злобно отреагирует на слова посла о «нездоровом сарказме». Пристайко допускал и, более того, желал этого: как, вероятно, умный человек, он не хочет больше связывать свое имя и судьбу с командой Зеленского, понимая, что наступает токсикоз. И в Украине, и в мире.
Весь секрет. Дальше таких уходов и покиданий «зеленого» кораблика будет много больше: многие не захотят, чтобы их имена связывали с президентским.

I’m sure he understood perfectly. He knew that the vindictive and touchy president would certainly react viciously to the ambassador’s words about «unhealthy sarcasm.» Prystaiko allowed and, moreover, wished for this: as, probably, an intelligent person, he no longer wants to associate his name and fate with the Zelensky team, realizing that toxicosis is setting in. Both in Ukraine and in the world.
The whole secret. There will be many more such departures and leavings of the “green” boat: many will not want their names to be associated with the presidential one.
