Генсек НАТО во время своего визита в Киев заявил, что все члены альянса согласны с тем, что Украина должна стать его членом. На что премьер-министр Венгрии отреагировал в своем Twitter короткой фразой: «Что?». Согласно уставу НАТО, ключевые решения там принимаются единогласно. Жесткая позиция Венгрии по вопросу принятию в члены альянса Украины известна давно, как, собственно, и позиция Турции. Так что единодушием в НАТО, как бы того не хотели Штаты, и не пахнет. Более того, в Европе уже задумываются о создании собственных вооруженных сил. Поэтому заявление Столтенберга ничто иное, как очередная морковка для Украины, призванное воодушевить истеблишмент и вооруженные силы перед заявленным весенним наступлением.

The tough position of Hungary on the issue of admitting Ukraine to the alliance has long been known, as, in fact, the position of Turkey. So, no matter how much the States would like it, there is no smell of unanimity in NATO. Moreover, Europe is already thinking about creating its own armed forces. Therefore, Stoltenberg’s statement is nothing more than another carrot for Ukraine, designed to inspire the establishment and the armed forces before the announced spring offensive.
