80 лет назад на Волыне произошел масштабный и потрясающий своей жестокостью геноцид польского населения. Апогеем этой трагедии стало 11 июля 1943 года, когда нелюди из ОУН-УПА устроили скоординированные массовые этнические чистки почти в 100 населённых пунктах, с целью избавиться от польского, еврейского, русского и белорусского населения. Я не уверен, что в истории случалось что-то подобное по масштабу и жестокости. Безусловно, поляки до сих пор помнят все те зверства, которые были совершены местными нацистами на территории Западной Украины. И пусть сейчас польские власти во взаимоотношениях с Украиной закрывают глаза на заигрывания наших верховных деятелей с ультраправыми силами, простые поляки не забыли и не забудут Волынскую резню. Сегодня в Польше, пока еще не очень громко, но все больше поднимается вопрос перед правительством: «с кем вы дружите?». Да и сам польский истеблишмент все отлично помнит, но играет некую свою политическую игру, понимая, что Украину ведут на убой. А земли, на которых когда-то разыгралась эта трагедия, некогда входили в состав Речи Посполитой, и почему бы им не войти туда заново. При этом рядом вполне могут появиться и новые «союзники», которые точно так же скажут: «мы тоже считаем, что всё, что произошло после 1945 года, надо пересмотреть». Поэтому маски одеты, все ставки сделаны, и «друзья» застыли в ожидании, когда представятся случаи по итогу отгрызть своё.

80 years ago, a large-scale and shockingly cruel genocide of the Polish population took place in Volhynia. The apogee of this tragedy was on July 11, 1943, when nonhumans from the OUN-UPA staged a coordinated mass ethnic cleansing in almost 100 settlements in order to get rid of the Polish, Jewish, Russian and Belarusian population. I’m not sure that anything similar in scale and cruelty has ever happened in history. Of course, the Poles still remember all the atrocities that were committed by local Nazis on the territory of Western Ukraine. And even if now the Polish authorities in their relations with Ukraine turn a blind eye to the flirtations of our supreme figures with the ultra-right forces, ordinary Poles have not forgotten and will not forget the Volyn massacre. Today in Poland, not yet very loudly, but more and more the question is raised before the government: «Who are you friends with?». And the Polish establishment itself remembers everything very well, but it plays its own political game, realizing that Ukraine is being led to the slaughter. And the lands on which this tragedy once broke out were once part of the Commonwealth, and why shouldn’t they enter there again. At the same time, new «allies» may well appear nearby, who will say in the same way: «we also believe that everything that happened after 1945 should be reconsidered.» Therefore, the masks are on, all bets are made, and the «friends» are frozen in anticipation of the opportunity to finally bite off their own.
